- Preparation
- There are some laboratories needed to be sure that the patient is in good general health before the surgery such as Complete blood picture, Liver and kidney functions, Coagulation profile and Random blood sugar
- Smoking is forbidden totally three weeks before and another three weeks after the surgery
- Convalescence
- Usually the patient stays ten days at home after the surgery then she or he can return to her work or normal activities gradually
- She or he must avoid sweating and wetting of the wounds
- The patient must avoid flexing the knee to preserve the wound and to get a beautiful thin scar
- There will be moderate pain, edema and bruises first ten days after the surgery which will be minimized by certain prescriptions written for her/him
- It is very important that she must wear the suitable pressure garment prescribed for her for one and half months after the surgery
