- The surgery usually takes one to three hours and the patient stays for two days to one week in the hospital after the surgery then he or she can go home

- Fade away after 6 months and up to one year and with the help of the usage of Scar reduction topical application or laser sessions during this period
- The Final result is usually after one year from the reconstruction with normal skin instead of the old burned areas after end of all the stages
- Preparation
- There are some laboratories needed to be sure that the lady is in good general health before the surgery such as Complete blood picture, Liver and kidney functions, Coagulation profile and Random blood sugar
- Smoking is prohibited completely before and after the surgery
- Convalescence
- Usually the patient stays two to three days at home after the surgery then she can return to her work or normal activities
- Must avoid sweating and wetting of the wounds
- There will be pain and fatigue, edema and bruises first two weeks after the surgery which will be minimized by certain prescriptions written for her
- Meticulous preservation of the expanders insertion sites from trauma and sharp objects during the whole period of expansion
- It is very important that she must wear the suitable pressure garment prescribed for her for one and half months after the surgery
